where are the penguins?

people usually go to phillip island to see the penguin parade, but unfortunately our group was not able to see it last weekend. this did not make me feel that the trip lacked something because i, in all glory, enjoyed the trip. (drama!) it was the camaraderie that i enjoyed the most. friends helping each other, listening to each other, laughing together, human penguins parading, and so much more...

don't worry, i did see a real penguin, 8 small penguins to be exact. they were about the height of a ruler and were very cute. ^_^

aside from the penguins, i also saw koalas. i saw one that is not sleeping which is very lucky because they usually spend most of their time sleeping and are only awake for an hour (23 hours of sleep, whew!) i was also able to feed kangaroos, ducks and emus. i also saw for the first time a tasmanian devil but it was sleeping so i cannot fully compare it to taz.

the trip also enabled me to pause for a moment and contemplate the decisions and plans that i have made for the past months. and i still feel that i'm ready to face whatever lies ahead.

it was a fun and educational trip. ^_^ i can't wait for the next one!
